Automatic "uncategorised"... category? section?

It would just be convenient to be able to see all of the otherwise uncategorised pages in one spot, and see if there's a suitable category for them.

  This functionality already exists by using the special page: Special:UncategorizedCategories

  I believe this question is about finding uncategorized *pages*, not categories. The appropriate special page is therefore [[Special:UncategorizedPages]]. Related, see also [[Special:UncategorizedFiles]] and [[Special:UncategorizedTemplates]].
