Notifications for comments on blog posts

On blog posts users make, the blog creator never knows when their blog receives comments without checking themselves, which if users don't often check their blogs (as I don't often do), they may not see new comments for days, weeks, months, or even years. It would great if new comments gave blog post owners a notification so they can see them and respond more quicker and easier.
